4 months old!

So...It's been a while since we posted anything on here.
Life has been crazy and Luke has been growing!
We are in the process of moving to another apartment within our complex where we manage and jobs and Church activities have kept us pretty busy.
Nonetheless, here's another post.
Luke turned 4 months old on July 6th and he now weighs over 15 lbs.
Here is a picture of Luke from Saturday at Pismo Beach with Mom, Dad, Aunt Jenny, and Uncle Scott (someday officially Uncle).

He has been getting big and loving hanging out with his parents and his friend Lillian (our friends baby who was born on the same day).
Just wanted to give a short update. More later.

6 Weeks Old

Luke turned 6 weeks old yesterday.  Miles and Luke celebrated by walking down and making Luke's first trip to Art's Cyclery to check out a new racing bike.  Luke seemed mesmerized by all the colors and bikes hanging everywhere.  They had a great time!  We also took some new pictures of Luke, here they are:

Luke's first Triathlon

On Saturday March 27th, Luke saw his first Triathlon action at the annual March Triathlon Series, put on by the Cal Poly Tri Team. The race was held at beautiful Lake Lopez right outside of San Luis Obispo. Miles competed on a relay team that completed an Olympic Distance race. Miles had two teammates, Jon & Shaeli. Shaeli completed a .93 mile swim, Jon completed a 24.8 mile bike ride, and Miles completed a 6.2 mile run. They did this to raise money for Lifewater International, a local Christian non-profit organization tackling the Global Water Crisis, wherein nearly One Billion people around the world don't have access to safe clean water. They raised $331.00 for Lifewater and will hopefully raise more for their next races. To learn more about the Global Water Crisis visit www.lifewater.org.

Everyone had a great time at the race and it was a beautiful and warm day, about 85 degrees!

Luke's Crazy Legs

Last Thursday (3/11) Luke went for his first walk in the stroller.  Mom, Dad, and Grandma were there as well.  It was warm and the sun was shining! He had a great time. Below are some pictures from the walk.

We were very excited to have a lot of our friends and family come visit Luke in the hospital when he was born.  We would like to think they were coming to visit us, but truth be told everyone just wanted to see Luke.  Miles called his parents, Hannah's parents, and his sister Jenny (who lives a 1/4 mile from the hospital) at 3:20am on March 6th to let them know that we were in the hospital.  At that point Hannah was already dilated 5cm.  Hannah's parents and sister were in the car a 1/2 hour later and on the road for the 5 hour journey south from Santa Rosa to San Luis Obispo, even though Doug had to coach his HS girls basketball team to a Division VI Title that night, which he did.  Miles' parents and brother were on the road a few hours later and arrived an hour after Luke was born.  Miles' sister Jenny arrived at the hospital around 6am (with coffee for Miles!) and patiently waited in the downstairs lobby for news of Luke.

Long story short, we would like to thank everyone who came to visit Luke (and us) and to welcome him into this world.

At Home

It's Sunday March 14, 2010 and we just had some family in town for the weekend, Miles' mom, aunt, and two cousins.  Had a great time downtown SLO eating and walking Luke around in the stroller!  The weather has been great, mid to low 70s and will be for the rest of the week.  We can't wait to take Luke to the beach for the first time so he can finally see the Pacific Ocean, and his dad surfing!  We will be posting pictures of Luke's first adventure to the beach so stay tuned.
